The Centre County Industrial Development Corporation (CCIDC) serves as the primary point of contact for economic development inquiries and activities relative to Centre County.  CCIDC coordinates with other service providers to retain, attract, promote and grow business opportunities in a collaborative and unified manner.

There are a multitude of reasons to locate your business in Centre County.  Residents enjoy an excellent quality of life, moderate living costs, nationally ranked public schools, safe communities and extensive cultural and recreational opportunities.  Our businesses draw workers from the contiguous counties of Blair, Clearfield, Clinton, Huntingdon, Mifflin, and Union, and our location near the intersection of I-99 and I-80 is ideal to move products efficiently north, south, east and west.

Centre County has earned a reputation as an incubator of high-tech companies, thanks in large part to research and development activities generated by Penn State.  State College ranks sixth nationally in number of doctorates per capita and earned a place on Expansion Management magazine’s 2007 lists of “Five-Star Knowledge Workers” and “Five-Star Business Opportunities.”  The September 2008 National Geographic Adventure Magazine identified State College as number five on their list of  Next Generation Towns in the East.  According to National Geographic "The next great adventure towns aren’t just the best base camps for outdoor pursuits, they’re smart investments".
