Success Stories – Graduates of the CBICC Incubator Program

Dozens of companies have graduated from the CCIDC’s Business Incubator Program to become major employers in Centre County. These businesses are a vital part of Centre County’s success.  Here is the answer to the “Where are they now?” for a number of our graduates!

Restek Corporation – found in 1985, a manufacturer of chromatography laboratory supplies, they are located in Penn Eagle Industrial Park at 110 Benner Circle in Bellefonte, employ more than 250 employees and have additional facilities in California, England, France, Germany and Ireland.  www.restek.com

Keystone Scientific/Thermo Fisher – founded in 1985, Keystone Scientific was acquired by Thermo Hypersil Keystone in 2000.  Their facility in Penn Eagle Industrial Park manufactures columns and accessories for use in liquid chromagraphy and has more than 30 employees locally.  www.thermofisher.com

Sound Technology – founded in 1987, STI provides innovative and high quality transducer and probe products for the medical ultrasound industry.  Located at 1363 S. Atherton Street, STI currently has more than 100 employees. www.sti-ultrasound.com   

Lomic, Inc. - founded in 1994, Lomic specializes in software, custom solutions and training for the natural gas industry. Lomic is headquartered at 1358 S. Atherton Street with offices in Houston, Texas.   www.lomic.com

Mitotyping Technologies -  founded in 1998 and located at 2565 Park Center Boulevard with a 5 person staff,  Mitotying uses their scientific knowledge, training and experience to help families and individuals resolve questions of identity and support the criminal justice system in its search for the truth through the use of forensic mitochondrial DNA typing methods.  www.mitotyping.com

Salimetrics, LLC -  founded in 1998 and headquartered at 101 Innovation Boulevard, Salimetrics develops saliva testing products and provides testing services to aid researchers in measuring stress biomarkers such as cortisol, protein, melatonin and others.  Salimetrics has 20+ employees.  www.salimetrics.com

Schoolwires, Inc - founded in 2000, Schoolwires provides complete strategic Website development and support  to integrate school district’s many audiences and educational missions through the internet.  With a staff of 85, including 69 in State College, they are located at 320 Rolling Ridge Drive, State College and provide services to nearly 800 school districts, a total of nearly 4,000 schools, in the United States.  www.schoolwires.com

NanoHorizons – founded by Penn State Scientists in 2002, develops and manufactures unique nanosilver-based antimicrobial additives that permanently inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungus, and mold in sports apparel, paints, rugs, hospital beds, and a variety of other products. Sinoceramics (USA), LLC - their expansion to State College in 2002 enabled their research, development and manufacturing of advanced crystal piezoceramics, engineering ceramics and optical components.  Now located at 330 Innovation Blvd., their local staff includes 4 employees.  Sinoceramics is an employee-owned, private company with over 1,000 employees in eight facilities worldwide.  www.sinocera.com

Geospatial Data Analysis Corporation (GDA) -  established in 2002, GDA is a woman-owned business specializing in the processing, analysis, and modeling of GIS and Remote Sensing data and development of the specialized GIS and Remote Sensing software.  GDA is  located at 301 Science Park Road, Suite 112, State College.   www.gdacorp.com 

Soft Genetics, LLC -  commencing to market in 2002,  Soft Genetics provides researchers and clinicians with effective, biologist friendly, easy-to-use software analysis tools to meet the ever changing needs of today’s genetic researcher and diagnostician.  They are now located at 100 Oakwood Avenue, State College and have 10 employees.  www.softgenetics.com

ADP Life Sciences - founded in 2003, the company bridges the gap between basic science/engineering and early-phase product development by designing and implementing superior prototypes and/or protocols that quickly demonstrate product concept and market benefit.  With 4 employees, ADP is located at 2701 Carolean Industrial Drive in State College. www.apdls.com

CD-Adapco – established in 2004 as a satellite operation for software development, their services include consulting services for the end-users.  They are currently at 330 Innovation Blvd. and employ 7 people locally.  www.cd-adapco.com

General Opto Solutions LLC - providing applicable innovative optical technologies for solar, defense and security since 2004 is now located at 2134 Sandy Drive, State College.  www.gos-us.com

QBC Diagnostics - acquired by The Drucker Company in 2005, QBC is now a leading multinational diagnostic equipment company delivering the technology that leads the way in point-of-care hematology.  Drucker/QBC employ over 90 people.  Their new facility at 168 Bradford Drive in Port Matilda  houses support sytems for both operations.  QBC has service centers in the United Kingdom, Germany and Lithuania.  www.qbcdiagnostics.com

DecisionVis LLC - founded in 2012, DecisionVIS develops highly customized, high performance visualization and many-objective optimization software solutions to enhance design maker understanding of their complex engineering design and planning problems.  Descision VIS is now located at 315 S.
